Komen CSNJ Welcomes Scott Present of Xtreme Event Group to Board of Directors
Susan G. Komen Central and South Jersey (Komen CSNJ) announced the appointment of Scott Present, founder and president of Xtreme Event Group, to its board of directors.
“We are thrilled to have Scott as part of the Komen CSNJ board of directors,” said Suzanne Corson, executive director of Komen CSNJ. “This is a natural and exciting transition from Scott’s involvement with the Affiliate as a dedicated volunteer and the 2018 MORE THAN PINK Walk co-chair.”
Present has been an active supporter of Komen CSNJ since 2013, providing entertainment services at the Affiliate’s annual walk event and other fundraisers benefitting the organization. He joined the walk committee in 2016 and took on the leadership position of MORE THAN PINK Walk co-chair in 2018, helping the Affiliate to successfully market the event, attract new participants and acquire sponsorships and partnerships.
“Over the last six years, I have had the opportunity to work along side some of the most amazing individuals that work tirelessly to help find a cure,” said Present. “It is an honor to now join the board of directors of the Susan G. Komen Central and South Jersey Affiliate, and continue to make an even greater impact within my community.”
In addition to his leadership for the Affiliate’s fundraisers, Present has been an integral part of the day-to-day success of Komen CSNJ. He has spearheaded marketing, video and social media initiatives to help further the Affiliate’s reach in its service area. Present has connected Komen CSNJ with new community partners to get involved and has helped the staff find new volunteers to join the fight against breast cancer.
Present regularly presents new ideas and insights to Affiliate staff, and puts in the time, energy and effort to help the Affiliate achieve its vision of a world without breast cancer.
“ I am dedicated to helping fulfill Susan G Komen’s mission of preventing and curing breast cancer forever,” said Present.
Present has over sixteen years in the entertainment, brand management and marketing industries. His entrepreneurial journey began at just eleven years old when Present first started a DJ entertainment business, leading to the founding of Xtreme Event Group in 2004. He currently manages a team of over 30 employees and 200 events per year.
Present graduated from Indiana University with a degree in business, with concentrations in marketing, computer information systems, international studies and telecommunications.
In addition to the work done for Komen CSNJ, Present is active in giving back to his local community. He has volunteered his time for other non-profits, including Ronald McDonald House Charities, Special Olympics New Jersey, Wish Upon a Wedding and Make-A-Wish Foundation.
