Fashion Show Filled with Pink, Celebration and Hope
The Pink Ribbons of Central Jersey Raised Funds and Awareness for Susan G. Komen Central and South Jersey
Fashion, food, friendship and fun were all on hand for the annual Pink Ribbons of Central New Jersey Fashion Show and Luncheon, bringing together a community that raised over $15,000 for Komen CSNJ. This event was held on June 11, 2019 at Battleground Country Club.
“The event attracts over 200 people, and we have a wonderful committee,” said Helene Cohen, breast cancer survivor and chair of the Pink Ribbons of Central New Jersey. “Our community gets very involved and we all work well together.”
The afternoon began with plentiful raffles and friends catching up, many wearing their chicest pink looks. There were over a hundred incredible gifts and baskets for guests to win and enjoy.
After a delicious lunch, the fashion show began, where volunteers of the Pink Ribbons of Central New Jersey modeled the latest styles and trends, curated by Fox’s of Marlboro.
Twirling and spinning, strutting and smiling, these models rocked the most beautiful fashions with the hopes that the success of this event will make an impact in the fight against breast cancer.
Over 100 women make up the Pink Ribbons of Central New Jersey and contribute to its fundraising and event planning. Each and every year, they are dedicated to Komen CSNJ’s vision of a world without breast cancer.
“We all work so hard to fundraise and make a true difference,” said Cohen. “Like a hand that needs all of its fingers, our committee accomplishes great things when we work together.”
These extraordinary ladies accomplish great things, indeed. The Pink Ribbons of Central New Jersey’s fashion show and luncheon, fall walk and other fundraising efforts have raised thousands of dollars for Komen CSNJ over the past few years.
“Every year, hope that a cure will be found, but until then, we will keep on working for this wonderful organization,” said Cohen.
