A Letter to Our MORE THAN PINK Walk Volunteers
Written by Jessica Lewis, Komen CSNJ MORE THAN PINK Walk Volunteer Chair
As Komen CSNJ’s MORE THAN PINK Walk Volunteer Chair, our wonderful volunteers will always have a special place in my heart.
I am starting off this email to say thank you so much — to you and all of our volunteers — for your dedication, passion and commitment to Komen CSNJ. It has been a pleasure working with you over the years. Talking to each and every one of our volunteers at the Walk is one of my favorite parts of the day.
This has been a learning experience over the past few years, but you’ve all been there to help and I am forever grateful. I will never like speeches, but talking to all of you is like talking to friends. Thank you for the pictures, the laughs, the cupcakes, the memories and everything else you’ve given me.
Your support means everything to our vision of a world without breast cancer. Thanks to your generosity, Komen CSNJ has invested nearly $16 million in community breast health programs in its 13-county service area and has helped contribute to the more than $920 million invested globally in breast cancer research.
I hope that I will see you at this year’s MORE THAN PINK Walk, taking place on Sunday, November 3, 2019, at Six Flags Great Adventure. This event highlights all of the lifesaving work your support makes possible — and we will need your help once again in making the day a success.
We have plenty of volunteer opportunities for everyone that focus on our core mission values of research, care, community and action.
Thank you so much for your time, help, guidance and feedback! We couldn’t do make an impact in the fight against breast cancer without you.
It’s been an honor being your Volunteer Chair for the past 5 years. I hope to see you in a few months at the MORE THAN PINK Walk!
