As Komen New Jersey’s Virtual MORE THAN PINK Walk Volunteer Chair, our wonderful volunteers will always have a special place in my heart.
I want to start by saying thank you so much — to you and all of our volunteers — for your dedication, passion and commitment to Komen New Jersey. It has been a pleasure working with you over the years. Talking to each and every one of our volunteers at the Walk is one of my favorite parts of the day, and this…
We’re so grateful to all who have helped us raise nearly $650,000 for the 2020 Komen New Jersey Virtual MORE THAN PINK Walk, something to be very proud of — as dollars raised support those most in need in New Jersey and beyond.

I hope you’re taking the time to care for yourself, each and every day! It’s ever-important to carve out enough time to ensure your mind, body and soul are nourished, despite what may be happening around you.
As a metastatic patient myself, today being Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day has particular poignance. Today is a day to share and spread knowledge on what it means to live with metastatic breast cancer, including ongoing treatment to live life successfully, and advocate for advances in care by changing laws and making clinical trials and alternative treatment options more readily available.

Dennise is active in fundraising to fight breast cancer with the Pfizer team, and is also an inspirational breast cancer survivor herself, sharing a message of resilience and strength through friends and family, and recognizing a purpose in the journey. She reminds us that every person’s experience with breast cancer is different.
BD, together with Bard (a company BD acquired several years ago), has been a corporate supporter of the Susan G. Komen New Jersey MORE THAN PINK Walk for the past 12 years — having raised over $200,000 for the affiliate’s efforts to fight breast cancer and save lives.
Adding even more profound meaning to these efforts, over the years, several BD colleagues have been diagnosed with breast cancer, with associates rallying around them to show their support by raising money to fight the disease, true to BD’s purpose of Advancing the world of health.
No matter where someone is in…

Listening to your body, self-breast examinations, and speaking up at your doctor’s visits when something feels different in your body are the first steps to being your own health advocate. Gina Simeone is a true testament to the importance of self-advocacy. At the age of 38, she felt a lump in her left breast and had it checked at her annual OBGYN visit. At the time, the doctor did not feel anything abnormal, so she let it go. In April of 2018, now 39, she felt another lump, and while watching a Grey’s Anatomy episode about breast cancer, Gina decided…
